Holly Hunter (born Holly Hunter) is an American actor and producer who is gaining recognition for her exceptional performances in films including Broadcast News The Firm The Piano, and The Incredibles. Holly Hunter won many awards which included an Oscar for her film Piano. She started her career acting as an actress both on Broadway and Off Broadway. Passionate about acting since her childhood, she performed Helen Keller in a play during the 5th grade. After suffering from the mumps, she went blind on the other side of her ear. This didn't stop her from pursuing her dream to be an actress. While in college, she studied drama and moving in New York City with her goals with her sights set. Hunter was trapped in an elevator with the playwright Beth Henley when she met her. Together they created Broadway Crimes of the Heart which marked Hunter's Broadway debut. The first time she appeared in a film was following her move from Los Angeles. Over the past three decades, since she was a part of the film Holly Hunter has been involved in numerous television movies and series. Holly Hunter is a Hollywood Walk of Fame star and has been awarded the Women in Film Lucy Award.
