Holly Hunter is an American actor and producer who is well-known by her highly commendable performances in movies such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. Her work has been recognized with numerous awards, including an Oscar for the film Piano. Actresses have a long career of involvement in Broadway, Off-Broadway and other projects. Since her childhood she's been passionate about performing. She was Helen Keller as a fifth-grade student in a school production. Mumps led her to lose her hearing in one of her ears, but this was not enough to stop the actress from fulfilling her dream. The college she attended was drama after which she moved to Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania to New York City to follow her goals. She met Beth Henley in an elevator and the pair collaborated to make Broadway Crimes of the Heart which was Hunter's debut film. After she was settled in Los Angeles, she began looking for roles in films. She landed one in the role of an actress playing the lead character of Swing Shift. Over the past three decades, she has appeared on many TV and film shows. Holly Hunter has a Hollywood Walk of Fame actress as well as the Women in Film Lucy Award.
